Bruce Smart (right) accepting a service award from new Board President Godwin Oliver. The DWCD Board thanked Bruce Smart for 16 years of service to the District the last 9 as Board President. Bruce first joined the Board in April of 2006 following his father Bill Smart. Bruce, an engineer, still worked for the City of Cortez on water treatment and distribution at that time. Since his retirement from Cortez in 2018, Bruce stayed active leading the DWCD Board until new Directors were ready to step up to leadership. Bruce has now earned his time to chase grandkids and golfballs.

channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, Dolores Water Conservancy District
