McPhee Release Update for Friday April 14, 2023
POSTED BY ERIC SPRAGUE ON APRIL 14, 2023
Be Advised! Per Dolores County Search & Rescue (DOCSAR), Road 9.7 (the road to the pumps put-in/take-out) is washed out and CLOSED. If you put in at Bradfield Bridge you will NOT be able to take out at the Pumps. Also, DOCSAR is not able to drive to Snaggletooth now – or any other rapid; so, rescues will be time-consuming and complicated. DOCSAR has had two water rescues in two days – not on the Dolores River, but on the road to the take-out due to the run-off.

Flows at Slick Rock are currently approximately 2,500 CFS. This is virtually all low snow runoff, as McPhee is only releasing 50 CFS downstream.
Finally, please note that the Bureau of Reclamation will be hosting their public release meeting in Dolores on May 4th. Look for the USBR press release for more details.
Stay Safe.
